Well, lets see..... Late in the grade eleven term, I left school to become a dancer. This was short lived, did not work out and I came home. I got a job at Northern Electric in Brampton. Shortly after getting the job, I met a young man, Bill Wright, who ran the dances at the Junior Farmers Building in Brampton and in 1965, I married him. We had 3 children together, Daryl, Amanda, and Rebecca. We moved to England for a few years, found we were too Canadianized to enjoy it there and came home in 1972. In 1982, Bill passed away. I had not really had any jobs as I was mainly a stay at home Mom, but quickly discovered I needed a way to support these three kids. I got a job at a printing company and over the next few years worked hard until I landed a position at American Express as Director of Advertising and Marketing Services. I enjoyed a great career here for about ten years. During this time I met my now husband, Bob Strolenberg. Together we own Wright Alternative Advertising. We now specialize in events and have had some great fun over the years with some of the projects. Last year we assisted in the openings of all the Eatons stores nationally, we did some fun events in malls in conjunction with the Raptors, Backstreet Boys and the likes. We still do conventional advertising too. We built our dream home about 5 years ago. I love to entertain. I have a huge love of cooking. (Did I mention I run the cooking classes at Eatons) and Bob spends his hobby time with his garden railway and his Nascar Sundays. The kids do not live at home anymore. None are married, Amanda is a Massage Therapist in Markham, Rebecca is working at a lithographers in Kitsolana BC and Daryl, unfortunately, was stricken with Schizophrenia back about 10 years ago but enjoys a nice little job at IGA. We have 2 dogs, A very large Doberman, Daytona, and a very small Yorkie, Tally. Well, that is my life in a nutshell, OK the rest of you, your turn. a. :-) |
